Steven Joe

Steven is currently the Training Academy Lieutenant with a large Sheriff’s Office in Northwest Louisiana. He has over 25 years of experience in Law Enforcement and over 20 years as a Firearms and Use of Force Instructor. He has worked in corrections, CID, Patrol, Narcotics and Training. He was assigned to the SWAT unit for 18 years. He has provided training to Foreign National Police/Military, US Military, Federal, State, Parish and Municipal Law Enforcement Agencies from across the United States. He is a Cooper Certified Personal Trainer. Steven is an International instructor with Monadnock and currently teaches chemical munitions, defensive tactics, firearms, active shooter, edged weapons, ground fighting, less lethal, Basic and Advanced SWAT, submachine gun, patrol rifle and TASER . He also works as a contractor for the US Army teaching the use of combloc weapons to soldiers and sailors being deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. Steven has provided expert testimony in the use of deadly force, impact weapons and edged weapons for the 1st District Court of Louisiana. He has worked as a Taskforce Agent for the FBI, DEA and US Marshals Service. He was an Adjunct instructor for Thunder Ranch Texas and has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management from Northeast.


Peter Desjardins
Peter Desjardins is a lifetime shooter and hunter from Maine. He has worked as a firearms instructor at the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Regional Training Academy specializing in Patrol Rifle. He has served as a consultant for firearms repairs/modifications with customizations specializing in AK, AR and Uzi based platforms. He is certified as a Rifle Instructor with the National Tactical Officers Association and the Louisiana Tactical Police Officers Association. Peter is a certified armorer for the AK 47/74 and the M16/AR 15 based weapons. He is currently active duty Air Force and also working as a contractor for the 163rd Joint Training Company at Ft. Polk, LA, teaching the AK, SVD, PSL, RPK and PKM GPMG for soldiers and sailors that are being deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq.

Lea Hall
Lea Hall is an attorney who provides use of force and firearms instruction at a regional training academy. His legal training provides him with a unique insight into the proper use of deadly force and the criminal justice system. Lea is a combat veteran and served in the 82nd Airborne Division as an infantry squad leader. During his tenure in the army, he was an accomplished small unit leader with experience in urban, jungle, woodland, winter, and desert environments. He trained with the United States Special Forces, Delta Force and the British SAS in various training exercises. Lea has advanced skills related to patrolling and small unit tactics. Lea provides instruction on precision rifle, patrol rifle, tactical movement, small unit tactics, and legal issues affecting operators.

Irene S. Hayes

Irene S. Hayes is a 7 ½ year veteran with a North Louisiana Sheriff’s Office. She’s worked in corrections as a Field Training Officer and currently trains over 2,000 Law Enforcement Officers annually at a Training Academy in Northwest Louisiana. Irene has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She has past experience in security, surveillance, and currently holds certifications in the following areas:

Billy Bowers

Billy Bowers is 21 year veteran with a with a large Sheriff's Office in Northwest Louisiana. He is currently working as part time firearms instructor at the Training Academy. Of those 19 years he served as a reserve for the Department for 9 years, 8 of those years he was the Medic on the SWAT team. While serving with the SWAT Team he was trained as an EMT-Tactical Medic by the US Park Police in the CONTOM Program. Prior to going to work for the Sheriff's Department he was a Fire Captain/Paramedic. He served on a large Fire Department in Northwest Louisiana for 30 years. He was one of the first EMT/Paramedic in Northwest Louisiana. Billy has been a competitive pistol shooter competing in local matches as well as the National Police Shooting Championship for the last 18 years. He was in the Military from 1966 - 1970 serving primarily in the Intelligence field. He also served 9 years in the Army National Guard as a Medic.

Avery Leary
Avery Leary is an eight year military veteran who served in the United States Army as an infantry team leader. During his tour in the Armed Services, Avery trained with the United States Navy Seals and the United States Special Forces in various exercises. Avery currently works for a large Northwest Louisiana sheriff’s office where he has served for twelve years in Corrections, Patrol, Training, SWAT and Narcotics. He is presently a team leader on that agency’s SWAT unit and the supervisor over the counter sniper unit. He has been involved in over 1000 high risk search warrants. Avery is a Louisiana POST Firearms Instructor, Special Tactics Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Active Shooter Instructor, Explosive Entry/Live Fire Shoot house Instructor and certified police counter sniper. Avery has trained numerous law enforcement officers and tactical operators in Police and SWAT tactics.

Todd Edwards
Todd Edwards has over 15 years of Law Enforcement experience and is assigned as an academy instructor for a large municipal Police Department in Northwest Louisiana. Previous assignments include Patrol, Directed Patrol Unit (Narcotics), Targeting Violent Offenders/ US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Criminal Intelligence Unit, Down Town Unit, and the Training Academy. He is a veteran of Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, twice decorated for wounds received in combat. Currently Todd teaches Defensive Tactics, Patrol Rifle, Active Shooter, TASER, Less Lethal Munitions, and Chemicals Munitions to police recruits and active officers.

Todd has provided various training to members of the US military prior to their deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan. Todd is a former staff instructor for Trinity Tactical Training Institute where he taught tactical rifle and pistol, home defense, and concealed carry courses. Todd attended Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) where he obtained a BA in Criminal Justice.


Richard McGee

Richard Broom-McGee is a 23 year veteran with the Bossier City Police Department. He has worked in patrol, K-9, special investigations and in an undercover capacity for numerous state, parish and city law enforcement agencies in support of narcotics, fugitive recovery, intelligence and other various criminal investigations. He was also a member of the North Western District U.S. Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force 1994-2009.

Richard is also an ordained and senior pastor of a local church based in Haughton, La. He is a 1990 graduate of the Shreveport Region Training Academy. He has certifications and training in the following areas:

Tucker Brelet
Tucker Brelet is currently employed with the largest Federal Law Enforcement Agency in the United States. He is using tactical man tracking/sign-cutting skills to make arrests on a daily basis. His professional history includes a mix of military, law enforcement, security and martial arts experience. Tucker is a life-long student of martial arts with over 20 years experience, receiving instructor certifications in Aikido and Judo while in Japan. He has served 10 years active duty as the team leader and close-quarter combat instructor of a U.S. Air Force Security Police Emergency Services Team. In conjunction with his operational commitments, Tucker has cross trained with numerous specialized local, federal and government units throughout the United States and overseas in tactical firearms, hostage rescue, sniper/counter sniper, close quarter combat, and special operations. His military experience also includes area supervisor for over 30 individuals in regular and hostile environments for the U.S.A.F largest protection level 1 weapons storage area. He has been the primary Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of the Antiterrorism/Force Protection program, conducting and reporting vulnerability assessments for more than 22,000 acres of land and over 57,000 military and civilian personnel. He has provided numerous dignitary protections to include celebrity, General Officers, and Presidential visits. Tucker has worked in the private security field providing protection and security for events and local businesses. He has held a Top Secret/SCI clearance since 2004. :

Chris Bittick
Chris Bittick has served since 1985 with a police department in Louisiana. Chris currently serves as the Patrol Commander for his police department. Prior assignments including approximately eighteen years in a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force with eight years of the assignment serving as Unit Commander. Chris is a founding member of his police department S.W.A.T. Team serving from 1995 through 2010 as both Assistant Commander and Commander. Chris served in the U.S. Navy from 1979 to 1983 as a Hospital Corpsman assigned to the U.S. Marines. Chris has trained officers from numerous agencies in his local region and provided training through the Louisiana Tactical Police Officer’s Association in conference training, Basic and Advanced SWAT schools, Patrol Rifle and Select Fire certification schools.

Jim Fuller

Jim Fuller is currently the owner of Rifle Dynamics, one of the most progressive fighting rifle manufacturers in the world. Not only has he provided weapons, but he has also provided training for Military, Federal, State, Parish, County and Municipal Law Enforcement Agencies from across the United States. In the 80s and through the 90s, Jim worked in the world of PSD. From 1998 to 2003, he worked as a range master and armorer for one of the largest private training facilities in the United States. In 2004, he began working as an adjunct instructor for Suarez International, teaching Combloc Weapons Armorer/Users courses and Close Range Gun fighting among other disciplines. In 2006 Jim began doing training contracts on combloc weapon systems with various DOD contractors. In 2007, Jim began modifying and building fighting rifles full time as Rifle Dynamics based out of Las Vegas, NV. Jim is also responsible for creating numerous training videos for ATAC.TV and Infidel Media.
